According to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office and Ulyssa’s family, the young girl died at 1:06 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Wellstar MCG Health after spending several days receiving medical care and being placed on life support. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed her passing following the serious injuries she sustained in the crash.
The tragic accident occurred on Friday evening when Ulyssa was riding as a passenger on a black pit bike operated by 17-year-old Jaylen Thomas. Investigators said the minibike entered a parking lot located at 1763 Gordon Highway from Milledgeville Road, where the vehicle struck a metal chain stretched between two concrete poles.
According to authorities, both riders were thrown from the minibike after hitting the chain. Investigators determined that reckless driving contributed to the crash, while the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Medical officials reported that Ulyssa suffered severe injuries, including devastating neck injuries and significant brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen.
